Mobile Homeless Outreach

The Eaton Canyon Foundation's Homeless Mobile Outreach Rescue Program consist of an outreach team roving the Pasadena/San Gabriel Valley area in the evening hours 7 days a week in search of long-term homeless individuals experiencing substance abuse and/or mental health issues.

The purpose of the Homeless Outreach Rescue Program is to seek out the so call 'forgotten or overlooked' long-term homeless individuals that have 'slipped between the cracks' because of mental health and/or chronic substance abuse issues. Upon location such individuals, we provide them with a 'Care Package' containing food, clothing, blankets and personal hygiene articles. Also, they will receive on-site counseling, information with direction and transportation to free local city agencies and non-profit human service providers whereas such individuals may obtain shelter, food, housing, medical and other services necessary to promote a healthy lifestyle and become a productive member of society.

This project consist of a collaboration and networking with local agencies and providers such as Union Station homeless shelter, Pacific Clinics, Pasadena Mental Health, Pasadena Police Department, L.A. County Sheriff, Sources Job Training & Referral Services, Alhambra Free Dental Clinic, Pasadena Public Health Department, Affordable Housing Services, Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center & many other local agencies.

This program is vital and necessary resource in the community that must continue to operate. We are in dire need of funding due to the increase of homelessness in recent years and the decrease in funding and in-kind gifts. We welcome any funding or volunteer services you can provide to assist our efforts in providing this vital human service.
